Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Tech to join the team on a part-time basis. The role involves under RN supervision performing basic patient care activities during the night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) with alternating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, assisting with ADLs, and communicating changes to nursing staff. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA/EMT/BLS credentials, and a willingness to be part of a

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA, CMA, EMT or nursing student with clinical completed required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy experience or CNA program graduate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including vital signs and glucose measurements.
• Assists with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating).
• Reports abnormal findings to nursing staff and maintains unit workflow with the RN/charge.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly and uses effective telephone etiquette.
• Prioritizes tasks and communicates with other departments to support patient care.
