We are looking for a full-time Patient Care Specialist. The ideal candidate will have prior experience processing authorizations.
Provides non-clinical support within the clinic/practice environment and ensures an exceptional patient experience by performing a variety of complex administrative tasks to support patient care delivery. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments or outpatient procedures, coordinating referrals, resources, and pre-authorizations, communicating with patients, and documenting within the appropriate systems. Also provides general administrative support such as scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, maintaining notes, minutes, files, and responding to inquiries from patients, providers, insurance companies, etc. Uses high initiative and independent judgment to prioritize and handle requests and problems.
Requirements include three (3) years of clerical and customer service experience, with at least one year in health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third-party payers. Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred. An Associate's degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
