Overview:

SMG Fort Norfolk Diagnostic Center in Norfolk, VA is hiring a part-time Patient Care Specialist! As a Patient Care Specialist with Sentara Healthcare, you will provide non-clinical support within a physician's office and ensure excellent patient experience by performing a variety of complex administrative tasks to support patient care delivery. Primary duties include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and answering patient questions. Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Associate Level degree or higher in lieu of the required experience will be considered.

Experience

• 3 years’ Customer Service experience required.
• 1 year experience with Health Insurance Plans, Medical Records Data, Medical Terminology, Registration, Scheduling, or Third-Party Payers required.
• Prior pre-authorization experience preferred.
• Electronic Medical Record preferred.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.44 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
