Job summary

Capital Healthcare Associates in Troy, NY is hiring full-time Patient Support Specialists to join their team. This role supports front-desk operations and medical office workflow.

Two schedules available: Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with a 30-minute lunch, or 7:00am–4:00pm with a 1-hour lunch. Compensation ranges from $18 to $24 per hour, with potential overtime and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with additional education desirable.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
• Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, family members, physicians, providers, managers, co-workers and external customers.
• Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
• Strong telephone skills for messages and appointment scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and checking in patients when they arrive to the office.
• Process incoming telephone calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule appointments for patients, following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule all follow up appointments as directed by the providers or as indicated on encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signature on the appropriate waiver(s) according to insurance requirements
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit and update when necessary
• Answer telephone switchboard, initiate tasks to Triage department, schedule patient appointments.
