Job summary

Community Care Physicians' Family Practice Slingerlands office is seeking a full-time Patient Support Specialist to join their team. This is a 40-hour work week with Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm and Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, preferably in a medical setting. Responsibilities include greeting patients, handling calls, scheduling, obtaining signatures, and maintaining the provider's daily schedule while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education desirable.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
• Ability to establish cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients as they arrive at the office.
• Process incoming telephone calls/messages per office policy.
• Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups per protocol.
• Obtain patient signatures on waivers as required by insurance.
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule and patient flow.
• Verify insurance coverage and demographic information at visits.
