Job summary

Total Vision, a group of optometry practices, is seeking a friendly front desk/patient coordinator in Chula Vista, CA. You will greet patients, manage check-in, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and support the daily operations of the front desk.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, multitasking, and familiarity with EHR systems. Experience in ophthalmic/medical settings is a plus, and we value reliability, organization, and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated flexibility in addressing a broad spectrum of patient requirements and preferences.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate positive patient rapport and build relationships while increase patient-retention.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the proven ability to manage priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities and ensure that patient commitments/deadlines are met.
• Proficiency in utilization of automated equipment and systems standard to the optometry industry.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and complete the check-in process.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments per doctor preferences, and transcribe messages.
• Verify insurance eligibility for all patients and audit insurance claims as needed.
• Scan and enter routing slips and documents into the EHR.
• Confirm next-day appointments and manage recalls for follow-ups.
• Pull and prepare charts for patients scheduled for the following day.
• Process contact lens sales via phone or doctor transitions.
• Maintain a clean, organized front desk at all times.
• Follow opening and closing procedures as directed.
