Job summary

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services seeking a Patient Coordinator for our River North facility. The role is full-time and on-site, focused on delivering a positive patient experience through registration, scheduling, and documentation support.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and coordinating transport and post-care instructions while maintaining accurate medical records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Performs patient registration in systems and verifies insurance when needed.
• Answers calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect time-of-service payments and verify pre-authorization.
• Assist with patient transport to/from exam rooms and post-procedure instructions.
• Prepare and organize patient records and documentation in electronic or paper forms.
• Schedule appointments and support documentation delivery to physicians or clients.
