Job summary

Summit Orthopedics is seeking a Patient Coordinator under the supervision of the Practice Development Manager. This full-time float position focuses on managing clinical support coordination, scheduling follow-up appointments and surgeries, and ensuring cross-team communication across Summit departments.

The role may involve coverage at Summit outreach sites. Primary hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with locations TBD based on clinic needs.

Qualifications

• Education: High School (required). Associates of Medical Assistant (preferred).
• Experience: 2 years: Associate degree or completion of a community or technical college program in medical administration or related field; equivalent combination considered.

Responsibilities

• Answer and respond to patient phone calls, manage team voicemail and email, and triage patient calls daily.
• Manage physicians’ daily schedules, clinic and surgery schedules, including urgent needs.
• Coordinate patient care between team members and Summit departments.
• Communicate physician and care provider information to patients and staff.
• Enter physicians’ orders into the EMR accurately.
• May complete standard non-complex patient forms (FMLA, STD, WC) as directed.
• Provide patients with information packets per physician protocols.
• Act as back-up to other teams and assist with voicemail, email, tasks.
• May room patients and initiate visits as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
