Job summary

Summit Orthopedics is seeking a Patient Coordinator to manage the clinical support coordination of patient care under the Practice Development Manager. This full-time float role handles scheduling follow-ups and surgeries, coordinates across care teams, and assists with non-clinical tasks per physician guidance.

The position requires a High School diploma (Associate in Medical Assistant preferred) and about 2 years in a related field.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Associate degree or completion of a Medical Administrative/Healthcare program preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience or education in healthcare administration.

Responsibilities

• Answer and triage patient phone calls and manage team voicemail and email.
• Schedule and logistically coordinate physicians' daily and surgery schedules.
• Coordinate patient care across care teams and Summit departments.
• Relay information from physicians to patients and staff accurately.
• Enter physicians' orders into the electronic medical record.
• Prepare standard patient forms (FMLA, disability, workers' compensation) as directed.
• Provide back-up support to other teams and manage voicemail and tasks as needed.
• Room patients and initiate visits as directed by clinicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
