RCCA in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Coordinator to serve as the vital link between patients and their healthcare journey. You will act as a medical liaison among the practice, hospitals, support services, and payors to ensure a seamless experience for our patients.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and two years related experience in medical coding, billing, or patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Accredited High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• At least two years of related experience in medical coding, billing, patient advocacy, or social services.
• Ability to articulate information clearly with others.
• Personable with proficiency in computer systems and medical billing software, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Before a patient’s first appointment, obtain basic chart information (diagnosis, referring physician, personal data, insurance, etc.).
• Ask patient questions to match with physician style or bedside manner.
• Coordinate physician referrals and schedules for oncology-related appointments.
• Resolve insurance billing and coding issues and contact agencies as needed.
• Ensure accurate documentation is in the medical chart.
• Verify insurance eligibility and educate patients on benefits and co-payments.
