Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient care, clerical tasks and smooth patient flow. You will prepare exam rooms, gather medical history, document vitals and allergies in the EHR, and assist with orders and referrals in the PMS/EHR.

Strong organizational skills and clear communication are essential. You'll work in a multispecialty/urgent care environment with focus on safe, efficient care delivery and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related experience required; 2-4 years preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• English communication both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains examination rooms and patient flow.
• Assists in clinical procedures and care documentation in EHR.
• Manages patient scheduling and calls/messages per guidelines.
• Documents vitals, allergies, and medications in EHR accurately.
• Orders and referrals in PMS and EHR when appropriate.
• Adheres to safety precautions and equipment maintenance.
• Supports transitions of care to UCC/Hospital.
• Provides scribing services.
