Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with clerical duties, patient flow and direct patient care. You will prepare examination rooms, maintain patient flow and document vitals in the EHR.

This role requires 0-1 year of related experience, completion of an accredited MA program, BLS, and strong English communication. Travel to satellite offices is required; pay range is $22.02–$27.07 hourly with benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required. 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required

Responsibilities

• Prepares examination rooms and escorts patients.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for visits.
• Delivers care aligned with patient demographics and needs.
• Answers telephones and directs messages.
• Schedules appointments per guidelines.
• Stocks examination rooms with supplies.
• Assists in ordering and maintaining supplies.
• Reconciles encounters daily per policy.
• Communicates issues to supervisor promptly.
• Performs within scope of practice.
• Obtains vital signs and documents in EHR.
• Reviews and updates medication lists and allergies in EHR.
• Enters orders and schedules in PMS/EHR.
• Provides referrals and consult orders timely.
• Adheres to universal safety precautions.
• Maintains proficiency with department equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Facilitates transition of care to UCC/Hospital.
• Demonstrates flexibility with schedules.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Provides scribing services.
