Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient flow, room preparation and clerical tasks. You will assist during examinations, document in the EHR and help ensure accurate vital signs, medication lists and allergies are up to date.

You will maintain clean exam rooms, stock supplies, schedule appointments, and coordinate referrals, while adhering to safety procedures and working across satellite offices as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience.
• 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room.
• Escorts patient into the room.
• Cleans examination room when exam is complete.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Ensures proper preparation for patient visit.
• Documents information in EHR.
• Reviews/updates medication list and allergies in EHR.
• enters orders and schedules appointments in PMS and EHR.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders in PMS and EHR.
• Adheres to universal safety precautions when administering medications.
• Obtains vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, height & weight.
• Travel to satellite offices as needed.
• Provide scribing services.
