Job summary

Chesapeake Urology in Maryland is seeking a Point of Contact (POC) to support the office and physicians with minimal supervision. You will create a positive first impression and help triage patient messages via Keona Health, document in EMR, and coordinate care.

This role requires strong customer service, accurate data entry into Practice Management and EHR, and travel between multiple sites within the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of front office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Preferred: Prior Medical Assistant or prior patient assistance center experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive and professional first impression of the practice and show patients a 'we care' attitude.
• Process incoming messages (40-50 per day) from the PAC via Keona Health and triage calls per policy.
• Document messages in EMR for physician disposition.
• Contact patients to provide results, arrange treatment, or discuss status.
• Scan and index pertinent information into the patient chart.
• Enter patient demographics and clinical information into Practice Management and EHR.
• Assess patient questions and symptoms and ask clarifying questions.
• Explain procedures and hand out educational materials related to treatment/diagnosis.
• Schedule office appointments, local procedures, injections, and external labs/radiology.
• E-scribe medications per doctor preference and order tests.
