Job summary

Optum is hiring an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to support patients and providers by coordinating appointments, verifying insurance, and handling billing inquiries. You will greet patients, schedule visits, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate registration and documentation, contributing to a compassionate patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of customer service experience
• Basic level of proficiency in MS Office

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls from patients and providers about appointments and inquiries.
• Greet and assist patients in person and by phone with a compassionate touch.
• Schedule appointments, verify eligibility, and obtain authorizations.
• Register patients with updated demographics and insurance data.
• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; explain payment options.
• Coordinate patient flow with clinical staff and address questions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
