Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator at our Deltona facility for a PRN position. The role focuses on delivering exceptional patient service, performing registrations, and coordinating care with multiple teams to ensure a smooth patient experience.

You will handle scheduling, insurance verification, and documentation while maintaining a clean and organized work area. This position emphasizes strong customer service, accuracy, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology/Onsite roles.
• Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify insurance coverage.
• Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
• Collect time-of-service payments when applicable and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and prepare medical records for providers.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation and accurate patient records.
