Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator at our Palm Beach Gardens facility for a PRN role focused on delivering exceptional patient care and coordinating front-desk tasks. You will greet patients, register them in systems, and support scheduling and insurance verification.

You will also maintain accurate records, assist with patient preparation and transportation, and ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation across multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus.
• CPR certification and valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify insurance.
• Answer calls professionally and manage scheduling.
• May collect patient responsibility payments.
• May verify insurance and obtain prior authorization.
• Maintain accurate patient records and HIPAA compliant documentation.
• Coordinate documentation and image delivery to physicians and customers.
• Assist with patient preparation and transportation as needed.
• Work across multiple sites as required.
