Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator at our Deltona facility for a PRN role. You will greet patients, register them in systems, verify insurance and assist with scheduling and documentation to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Role requires strong customer service, multi-tasking, and attention to detail. CPR certification is preferred and a valid Florida driver’s license may be required for mobile support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• CPR Certification is a plus for Fixed Radiology?
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Screen patients prior to procedures and review medical history.
• Transport patients to/from exam rooms and assist with transfers.
• Provide preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and stock supplies.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance details.
• Prepare medical records for physicians and patients.
• Document patient visits accurately in EMR and paper records.
