Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our Winter Haven facility. This full-time role focuses on delivering an excellent patient experience, handling registrations, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.

You’ll support clinical staff and maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant records, across multiple sites as needed. The position emphasizes strong customer service, organizational and multitasking abilities, and the flexibility to work at several locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification required for Mobile Radiology; CPR Certification is a plus for Fixed Radiology.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer calls professionally and courteously.
• Collect patient payments when applicable.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records in electronic systems.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation and image delivery.
• Support clinical staff with documentation and patient instructions.
