Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator at our Deltona facility to provide exceptional patient care and front-desk support. This PRN role involves greeting patients, performing registrations, verifying insurance, handling payments, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient journey.

The position requires strong customer service, multi-tasking, and knowledge of healthcare processes. CPR certification and a valid driver’s license are beneficial for mobile/mobile unit support.

Qualifications

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in multiple systems accurately.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations when needed.
• Communicate clearly about procedures and post-care instructions.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and direct them to the appropriate area.
• Perform patient registration and verify demographic information.
• Answer calls professionally and manage patient inquiries.
• Collect time-of-service payments when applicable.
• Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes.
• Prepare medical records and documents for physicians and staff.
