Job summary

Akumin in Palm Beach Gardens, FL is seeking a Patient Coordinator for a PRN role to support front desk and patient services across radiology and oncology procedures. You will greet patients, register them in systems, verify insurance and explain what to expect during visits.

This role emphasizes accuracy in documentation, HIPAA compliance, and cross-team collaboration. CPR certification is required prior to hire; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology; for Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Performs patient registration in various systems.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains prior authorization.
• Collects monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• Transports patients to/from exam room and assists in patient transfer.
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient visits and records.
