Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant who will assist in coordinating patient examinations, documenting in the EHR, and supporting clinical operations. You will room patients, take vitals, and help with screenings and medication management under provider supervision.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent, with certification within 120 days of hire and ongoing credentialing.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification required within specified timeframe after hire (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
• Knowledge of patient care workflows and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient examinations and treatment plans.
• Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document information in the EHR.
• Perform back office testing and assist providers with examinations/procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with training and provide follow-up with patients per provider instructions.
• Maintain inventory and ensure exam rooms are stocked and clean.
