Job summary

NSPC is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet patients, relay messages, assist with procedures, and sustain sterile technique under the guidance of the Center Manager and Providers. You will prepare patients, manage flow, and document vitals and orders in the chart.

You will support administrative duties, provide discharge instructions, ensure infection control, privacy under HIPAA, and comply with NSPC policies. The role requires strong patient care and attention to detail in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred or 2+ years MA experience.
• Ability to take vital signs and document accurately.
• Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations and healthcare terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic software literacy.
• Familiarity with electronic patient records and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in waiting areas and relays messages as needed.
• Prepares patients for care and ensures comfort and safety.
• Manages daily patient flow and liaises between providers and patients.
• Documents charts, vitals, meds, allergies, and orders in the medical record.
• Provides discharge instructions and educational materials.
• Maintains infection control, sterilization, and equipment readiness.
• Assists with administrative duties when clinical tasks are complete.
• Upholds HIPAA privacy rules and NSPC policies at all times.
