Job summary

NSPC is seeking a Medical Assistant to work under the Center Manager and Providers. You will greet patients, relay messages, assist with procedures, and maintain sterile technique in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, taking vitals, documenting in charts, and supporting follow-up care while upholding HIPAA and OSHA standards. This on-site role requires teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MA program preferred or 2+ years MA experience.
• At least 1 year of related experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to take vital signs and document accurately.
• General healthcare terminology knowledge and OSHA/HIPAA awareness.
• Familiarity with insurance criteria for labs, X-rays, etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in waiting areas and exam rooms and relay messages as needed.
• Prepare patients for care and ensure comfort and safety.
• Manage patient flow and liaison between providers and patients.
• Document patient charts: vitals, meds, allergies, orders.
• Maintain exam/procedure/recovery rooms before/after procedures.
• Ensure infection control and sterile techniques are followed.
• Provide discharge/follow-up instructions and education materials.
• Assist with administrative duties when clinical duties are completed.
