Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience.
• Knowledge of medical office operations (scheduling, registration, EMR, patient flow, billing, coding, referrals, authorizations, payer guidelines, compliance, credentials, privileges, regulatory agencies).
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and arrives patients and secures signatures for all required documentation.
• Obtains and verifies insurance and demographic information.
• Performs patient registration, referral coordination and manages calls and inquiries.
• Schedules, confirms or reschedules patient appointments and coordinates intake of patient information.
• Facilitates patient care between primary, specialty, and ancillary services.
• Maintains medical records and handles distribution of mail, faxes and electronic items.
• Supports a culture of patient-centered medical home and works both independently and in a team.
