Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; must pass annual registration competency exam.
• Demonstrated customer service ability; interact with public, staff and patients preferred.
• Proven customer service experience; knowledge of medical office operations, scheduling, EMR, and billing.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and payer guidelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets and receives patients; secures signatures for all required documentation; follows CHMG policies and procedures.
• Obtains and verifies insurance and demographic information; makes collection attempts and educates on resources; reconciles work lists and reports.
• Facilitates patient care between primary, specialty, and ancillary services.
• Welcomes and coordinates intake of patient information for new and existing patients, and creates and maintains medical records.
• Processes and routes all incoming calls or requests and responds to inquiries.
• Schedules, confirms or reschedules patient appointments; works Televox Reports daily; promotes enrollment in Patient Connect.
• Distributes mail, faxes and electronic documents; educates patients on form completion requests.
• Supports a culture of “yes” in a patient-centered medical home; works independently and on special projects.
• Coordinates multiple aspects of projects, events, and other complex activities.
