Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our River North facility in Chicago. This full-time role handles patient reception, registration, insurance verification, and scheduling, ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to post-visit instructions.

The position requires a High School Diploma, CPR certification, and the ability to work at multiple sites. Strong customer service and computer skills are essential, with adherence to HIPAA and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology; CPR Certification is a plus for Fixed Radiology.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations and travel as needed.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers, and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify insurance coverage.
• Answer phone calls professionally and manage scheduling.
• Collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility where applicable.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation.
