Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for the Plano facility. The full-time role focuses on patient reception, registration, appointment scheduling, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities include assisting patients, verifying insurance, collecting payments as needed, and maintaining accurate documentation in electronic records. CPR may be required for mobile settings; a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification for mobile radiology/oncology positions (before hire) or CPR certification a plus for fixed radiology.
• Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify patient information.
• Answer calls professionally and courteously.
• Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes.
• Document patient visits accurately in electronic systems and on paper records.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient records accuracy.
• Support clinical staff with documentation and image delivery as needed.
