Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator to enhance the patient experience by handling registration, insurance verification, and information delivery. You will support clinical staff, maintain records, and ensure accurate documentation across electronic and paper systems.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting payments, and coordinating with multiple sites. A strong focus on customer service, organization, and HIPAA compliance is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required for Mobile Radiology; a plus for Fixed Radiology.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and by phone.
• Register patients in diverse systems and verify information.
• Collect patient payments for time‑of‑service services.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations.
• Provide preliminary and post‑procedure instructions.
• Maintain accurate patient records in EHR and written forms.
• Transport and assist patients to exam areas as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance in all tasks.
