Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator at the Miami Beach facility. This full‑time role, Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., focuses on delivering exceptional patient care and accurate administrative support.

You will greet patients, register them, verify insurance, collect payments, and prepare records across multiple systems while ensuring HIPAA compliance and a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire (Mobile Radiology/Oncology).
• CPR Certification is a plus for Fixed Radiology.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify information.
• Answer calls professionally and courteously.
• Collect payments for time‑of‑service patient responsibilities when needed.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations.
• Screen patients for procedures and collect medical history as needed.
• Transport patients to/from exam rooms and assist with transfers.
• Provide preliminary and post‑procedure instructions to patients.
• Schedule appointments and ensure accurate patient records.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and stock supplies.
• Assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance in all duties.
