AEG in Mentor, OH is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, patient flow, and coordination across the care team. You will greet patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, enter data in EMR, and support billing and collections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors; primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage email/digital communications.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules, including cancellations/reschedules.
• Implement appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Explain insurance coverage, benefits, and patient financial responsibilities.
• Prepare patient charts and docs ahead of visits for efficient flow.
• Record charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; allocate balances.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and provider schedules; adjust as needed.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical/optical teams for smooth transitions.
• Support patient retention through recalls and annual/needs-based visits.
• Maintain a clean, organized front desk environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
