Job summary

Compass Health Center in Northbrook, IL seeks a welcoming Patient Care Coordinator to support patients and families from entry through scheduling. You will greet visitors, handle calls, manage reception, schedule family therapy and outpatient psychiatry appointments, and assist with intake while ensuring HIPAA and confidentiality standards are upheld.

Responsibilities include EMR usage, collecting payments, and maintaining a smooth front-desk operation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization and planning skills; detail oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
• Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible schedule – able to work assigned schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greets and orients all patients, visitors, and staff who enter the building.
• Answers incoming calls in a warm and welcoming manner.
• Maintains neat and orderly reception area.
• Maintains awareness of patients, visitors, and staff who are in the building.
• Reaches out to families to schedule family therapy appointments and outpatient psychiatrist appointments.
• Provides intake to new clients, verifying demographics, insurance, forms and chart data entry.
• Maintains patient charts according to confidentiality standards and HIPAA requirements.
• Uses EMR to verify appointments and schedule clinicians/psychiatrists.
• Obtains payment methods for program or outpatient appointments; collects payments and issues receipts.
• Opens and closes facility in a timely manner.
• Performs clerical duties to ensure efficient operations (computers, equipment, etc.).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
