Job summary

joinaegvision is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to welcome patients and manage check-in/check-out with accuracy in EMR systems. You will greet patients and vendors warmly, answer calls, schedule appointments, and collect demographic and insurance information.

The role requires basic computer literacy, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to patient confidentiality. You will support claims preparation and maintain an orderly workspace in a busy practice.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge and greet patients, customers, and vendors as they walk into the practice in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
• Schedules appointments.
• Gathers patients and insurance information.
• Verifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete.
• Verifies vision and medical insurance information and enters EMR.
• Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patients.
• Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete.
• Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed.
• Print and prepare forms for patients visit.
• Collects and documents all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR.
• Allocates balances to insurance as needed.
• Always maintains a clean workspace.
• Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager.
• This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
