Job summary

Patient First in Columbia, MD is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, assist with the kiosk, register and verify insurance and demographics, and support front desk operations.

You will handle billing inquiries, collect payments, file, scan, and coordinate with care teams while delivering compassionate customer service. This is a full-time, on-site role with growth opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic typing skills required.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 7 hours.
• Lift up to 25 pounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients at the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients needing emergency assistance to the treatment area.
• Explain billing policies and help with questions about insurable and non-insurable charges.
• Register patients accurately and provide excellent customer service.
• Verify patient demographics, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.
• Answer billing questions and provide itemized statements.
• Collect money and issue receipts for visits and services.
• Maintain front office area and complete daily checklists and reports.
• Answer calls and distribute messages in a timely manner.
