Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) seeks an entry-level Patient Care Coordination Specialist I to serve as primary contact for patients and support access to care through registration, scheduling, and insurance verification. The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to workflows in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED – preferred.
• One year of healthcare, customer service, or administrative experience – preferred.
• Knowledge of customer service principles.
• Data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use medical databases and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for patients, providers, and staff via phone, email, or in person.
• Register and pre-register patients with accurate demographics, insurance, and eligibility info in the EHR.
• Manage patient check-in, self-check-in, and collect co-pays; notify clinical team as needed.
• Monitor appointment confirmations and follow up on unconfirmed visits.
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments across multiple service lines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow SEARHC Standards of Service Excellence.
• Support enrollment in MySEARHC patient portal.
