Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
• Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
• Billing Systems experience and knowledge of third-party claims in a medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains insurance information and counsels on financial assistance options.
• Registers new patients and assists with form completion.
• Reviews schedule for new patients and updates as needed.
• Calls patients with appointment reminders and collects insurance details and referrals.
• Explains billing process to patients and answers inquiries from patients and payers.
• Assists with basic account maintenance and informs staff of billing steps.
• Resolves insurance questions related to billing for patients.
