Duke Clinical Research Institute is looking for a dedicated Financial Care Counselor to join the Patient Revenue Management Organization. This role involves managing patient accounts accurately, ensuring compliance with insurance and regulatory guidelines, and assisting patients with financial options.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and have a minimum of two years of experience in healthcare service access or billing. The work hours are Monday–Thursday from 10:30 PM to 9:00 AM. A commitment bonus of $5,000 is available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working in hospital service access or billing and collections.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Must handle multiple tasks and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient accounts accurately based on protocols and regulations.
• Ensure insurance requirements are met before patient arrival.
• Assist patients in arranging payment options and screen for funding sources.
• Document all billing details in the system.

Skills

Excellent communication skills, oral and written

Ability to analyze relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers, and supervisors

Ability to handle data and perform multiple tasks independently

Understanding and compliance with policies and procedures

Education

High school education or equivalent; postsecondary education preferred

Associate's degree in a healthcare related field
