Job summary

Duke University Health System's Patient Revenue Management Office (PRMO) seeks a Financial Care Counselor for Duke Radiology in Durham, NC. The role focuses on accurate patient accounts, insurance coordination, and payment arrangements to support timely, compliant billing.

The position requires strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a busy hospital setting. A commitment bonus of $5000 is available to eligible new hires, paid in two installments over 12

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
• Ability to analyze relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers and supervisors.
• Must be able to develop and maintain professional, service-oriented working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete patient accounts based on departmental protocol and compliance.
• Explain bills and provide assistance to visitors and patients.
• Explain policies and departmental coverage as requested.
• Coordinate payment options with patients and screen for government funding sources.
• Resolve insurance claim rejections/denials timely and accurately.
• Enter and update referrals as required.
• Update the billing system to reflect insurance status.
