Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Patient Accounting Coordinator to manage patient billing and collection processing in line with department policies. Responsibilities include payment posting, cash reconciliation, refunds, insurance follow-up, and call center customer service.

Knowledge of Windows and Excel, plus familiarity with Epic EMR, is preferred. Requires High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year in a healthcare contact center, with ability to multitask

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare contact center or similar.
• Ability to work across multiple revenue cycle functions or more than one site.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient billing and collection processing in line with policy.
• Perform payment posting and cash reconciliation.
• Process refunds/credits and follow up on insurance matters.
• Provide customer service in a call center setting and handle self-pay collections.
• Submit claims efficiently and accurately.
