Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative to support the Texas Oncology clinics in Harlingen, TX. This full‑time role focuses on educating patients about insurance coverage, assessing financial needs, and maintaining eligibility in our systems.

Level 1 or Senior based on experience, with duties spanning pre-authorization, billing support, and coordination with the clinical and administrative teams in a community oncology setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding applications.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and use appropriate terminology.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and demographics prior to treatment; educate patient on coverage and benefits.
• Assess patient financial ability and discuss payment arrangements; educate on financial assistance programs.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and signature; forward to billing.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes prior to each treatment.
• Review patient account balance and inform front desk to meet with patients.
• Ensure correct entry of patient co-pay in system; assist front desk.
• Update demographics and insurance coverage in the system at each visit.
• Maintain knowledge of available financial aide and develop relationships with providers.
• Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA; comply with SOPs.
