Job summary

The US Oncology Network's Texas Oncology Cedar Park clinic is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative to educate patients on insurance coverage and benefits, verify eligibility, and maintain accurate records. This full-time role includes travel to Marble Falls, TX as needed and supports the Medical Oncology Department at 1404 Medical Parkway Building C Suite 200.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly and utilize the appropriate terminology.
• Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.
• Associates degree in Finance, Business or four years revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years pre-services coordinator experience and two (2) years of patient benefits experience required.
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and appropriate application of insurance coverage benefits and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Before patient treatment, obtain insurance information and educate on coverage and costs.
• Assess patient financial ability and discuss payment options; assist with programs.
• Complete reimbursement forms for patient review and forward to billing.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral codes prior to treatment.
• Review account balances and coordinate with front desk for collections.
• Update demographics and insurance data at each visit per SOPs.
