Universal Health Services in the Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (ARCBO) is seeking a Patient Accounts Specialist. You will handle first line inquiries from patients and insurers, document interactions in the Patient Accounting System, and escalate complex issues, while supporting a fast-paced healthcare business office environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years customer service experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Customer focused with attention to detail and ability to multitask; strong 10 key data entry and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Document all inquiries concerning patient accounts from patients and third party payers.
• Act as first line support to patients or payers with questions about accounts or claims.
• Root cause issues and attempt to resolve.
• Document and communicate resolution in the Patient Accounting System.
• Escalate problem accounts to management for assistance and resolution.
• Communicate resolution to responsible parties and guarantors.
• Respond within 24 hours to inquiries requiring research and provide updates.
• Collaborate with facility and CBO teams to investigate and resolve issues.
• Maintain knowledge of call routing and patient accounting systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
