Job summary

Universal Health Services, based in the Atlantic Region Central Billing Office, is seeking a dynamic Contact Center Support to handle first-line inquiries about patient accounts from patients and insurers. The role involves documentation, issue resolution, and coordination with facilities and departments.

Responsibilities include serving as the first point of contact, escalating complex cases, and ensuring timely responses within 24 hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years customer service experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Customer focused with attention to detail and ability to multi-task; strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• Familiarity with customer service and 1-3 years healthcare business office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document all inquiries concerning patient accounts including patient and third party payers.
• Act as first line of support to patients or third party payers with questions about an account or claim.
• Root cause issues and attempt to resolve.
• Document and communicate resolution in the Patient Accounting System.
• Escalate problem accounts to management for assistance and resolution.
• Clearly communicate resolution to responsible parties and guarantors on the account.
• Respond within 24 hours to patient inquiries requiring research and provide updates on status or resolution.
• Work with facility and internal departments to investigate and resolve issues related to patient or insurance inquiries.
• Maintain working knowledge of the call routing system and patient accounting system.
• Other duties as assigned.
