Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a Patient Account Representative to handle registration and billing to third-party payers for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-IA. Schedule: Mon-Fri 07:30–16:00. You will follow up on claims, ensure accurate billing, and maintain compliance with standards while supporting the patient experience.

Responsibilities include registering clinic encounters, entering charges, and resolving billing discrepancies. Safety policies and procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• Medical office experience
• Billing experience
• Brightree software experience

Responsibilities

• Receives claims and ensures clean copy is sent to insurance company.
• Follows up on claims on first-time billings and takes action as appropriate.
• Resolves billing issues with insurance companies, patients and physicians’ offices.
• Registration functions: Creates an account from clinic encounters and enters charges into the system.
• Adheres to safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.
