Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a Patient Account Coordinator to deliver exceptional customer service and manage patient accounts. You will research past due balances, verify postings, insurance filings, and adjustments to ensure balances are resolved, all while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, communication with patients, and coordination with billing and collections processes within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; Preferred: Associate degree.
• Minimum: One year of job-related experience.
• Related experience includes dealing with the public, collections and organization skills, medical terminology, and HIPAA knowledge.
• Ability to operate basic office machines, computer proficiency, and strong verbal/written communication.
• Experience in medical/clerical hospital patient accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and resolve inquiries.
• Contact patients regarding past due amounts; research accounts.
• Verify charges posted, insurance filed, and contract adjustments/payments applied.
• Ensure patient balances are resolved and documented accurately.

Job Summary:

Provides excellent customer service through final resolution which includes answering patient inquiries via verbal and written communication Responsible for contacting patients regarding past due amounts. Patient Account Coordinator researches the account, verifies that charges have been posted, insurance has been filed, contractual adjustments and/or payments posted properly and patient balances are resolved.
