Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Florida is hiring a Patient Account Coordinator II to deliver outstanding service by resolving patient inquiries and past-due balances. Job Summary

Provides excellent customer service through final resolution which includes answering patient inquiries via verbal and written communication. Responsible for contacting patients regarding past due amounts. When concerns are identified, the Patient Account Coordinator II researches the account and ensures insurance has been filed, contractual adjustments and /or payments posted properly patient balances are resolved. Secure comprehensive information regarding a debtor's ability to pay various services rendered while maintaining good community relations. Initiate appropriate financial arrangements necessary to assist the debtor with completing the financial obligations incurred in accordance with departmental guidelines.

Required Education

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent; Preferred: Associate degree

Required Experience

• Minimum: Two (2) years job related experience.
• Behavioral Criteria: Related experience includes:
• Dealing with the public
• Collection experience and organization skills
• Medical terminology
• HIPAA knowledge
• Other Training or Special Skills:
• Ability to operate basic office machines, i.e., calculator, fax, printers, and photocopier.
• Computer proficiency
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in medical/clerical arena or hospital patient accounting background
