Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is seeking an experienced accounting leader to head an accounting team in a private, nonprofit healthcare system. You will ensure accurate, timely financial information for internal and external customers and promote effective communication across the department.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will supervise indirectly and help drive audits, regulatory reporting, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead an accounting team, ensuring all team members produce accurate, timely financial information to internal and external customers.
• Act as department liaison to promote effective communication and ensure good customer relations.
• Complete, assist, review, and improve processes, procedures, and complex account reconciliations.
• Prepare audit/tax schedules and regulatory reports.
• Work under minimum supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Required Experience:

• 3 Years of Accounting Experience

Preferred Experience:

• Four (4) or more years of accounting experience.
• Accounting software experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Spreadsheet skills.
• Database skills.

• None

Preferred Certification/License/Registry:

• Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 473 (Public Accountancy).
