Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Days Supervisor for Patient Access Services to oversee frontline registration and insurance verification across assigned service areas, ensuring timely data capture and a positive patient experience.

Under the Manager, you will maintain operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and staff performance, providing coaching, escalation, staffing support, and cross-unit collaboration to resolve access issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Patient Access or hospital registration required.
• Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Experience in a unionized healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate operational issues, system concerns, or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate.
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support.
• Reinforce compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
• Maintain working knowledge of registration processes, insurance verification, and financial clearance workflows.
• Support compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Supervise frontline Patient Access representatives, including scheduling, attendance monitoring, and performance feedback.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff in collaboration with department leadership.
• Provide ongoing coaching to reinforce customer service standards (e.g., AIDET) and registration accuracy.
• Address routine employee concerns and elevate complex matters to the Manager and/or Human Resources.
• Support management of staff performance in accordance with 1199 collective bargaining agreements.
