Job summary

Mount Sinai Brooklyn is seeking a part-time Supervisor, Patient Access Services to oversee frontline registration staff in assigned hospital service areas, including Emergency Department and Admitting. Weekend-day schedule with a focus on accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance to deliver a positive patient experience.

The supervisor works with the Manager to maintain operational efficiency, ensure HIPAA compliance, and coach staff on registration workflows

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access or hospital registration.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate operational issues or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate.
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support.
• Reinforce compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
• Maintain working knowledge of registration processes, insurance verification, and financial clearance workflows.
• Support compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
