Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Support Assistant at Swedish Hospital in Chicago. This full-time role supports the clinical team by managing front desk communications and guiding patients through visits, with day shifts to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will answer calls, use EPIC to schedule and register patients across providers and sites, obtain prior authorization, and provide administrative support under the Physicians and Practice Manager. Excellent customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of administrative or customer service experience preferred.
• EPIC knowledge and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage front desk and waiting area communication to move patients through visits and support the clinical team.
• Answer all incoming telephone calls to the department from patients, physicians, and other departments while handling each as appropriate in accordance with standards.
• Utilize EPIC to schedule and register patients for multiple providers, sites and services.
• Obtain prior authorization, records and orders as needed to ensure patients arrival to the department to be seamless.
• Familiarize yourself with physician preferences, physician availability, practice visit types, and practice protocols.
• Obtain prior authorization as needed.
• Review department templates daily to ensure patient access and template efficient utilization.
• Informing Practice Manager of concerns.
• Provide other administrative support under the direction of the Physicians and Practice Manager.
